Southampton Test Unveils Candidates for May Elections

Following the selection of David Cameron as leader, the focus on a more modernised party has been replicated on a local level in the city, with Southampton Test Conservative Association (STCA) looking for a bright future through the choice of three new candidates, all of whom are in their twenties.

All of these new candidates currently work in the city for a number of well known local businesses and organisations. STCA has selected local communications consultant, Matt Turpin, 28 to fight the Bevois ward for the party, whilst Neil Fitzgerald, 24 who works in the cruise industry and accountant, Andy Wells, also 24 will be looking to extend the reach of the Conservatives in the city’s Coxford and Millbrook wards respectively.

Matt, who has lived in Southampton for the past four years, commented:

“I have always had a strong interest in politics and decided that the time was right for me to translate this interest into a practical approach as I am keen to make a contribution to the City where I both live and work.”
